Once or twice a year we run a Beginners Course, this is a structured set of sessions introducing archery to the complete novice.
The course runs on Saturday mornings over four consecutive weeks, from 09.30 to 12.00. We get you shooting a club recurve bow in the very first hour, show you how to shoot safely and explain how everything works.
By the end of the course, you will understand all about recurve shooting, how to use a sight, how to stand and shoot in the right way, how to score your arrows and how the shooting line works. If all goes well you will receive a certificate when you complete all four sessions, confirming you are safe and competent to join an archery club.
While we don’t guarantee entry to our club after the course (there is normally a waiting list) you’ll be very welcome to discuss our club with us if you want to continue shooting with us.
Are you interested? Our next beginners’ course will be in Spring 2018.If you want to express interest please fill out the form below. We’ll add you to our mailing list and get back to you with more information nearer the time.
Please note: Participants have to be a minimum of 8 years old. Young people under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult – so if your son or daughter wants to do the course, why not consider enrolling yourself and doing it together?
